Passive environmentalism by design

Landwell approaches design with clarity and intention. Proportions are balanced, materials are honest, and every element serves both function and form . Each home is planned to maximize flow, light, and experience - from built-in storage that supports daily life to finishes that develop character over time. The result is a residence that feels considered, comfortable, and enduring.

CRAFTMANSHIP IN THE DETAILS

The kitchen cabinetry is crafted as furniture, not simply storage. White oak panels are book-matched so the natural grain flows in perfect symmetry, creating a sense of rhythm and harmony across the room. Every drawer glides shut with soft-close precision, combining quiet luxury with everyday function. It’s design that elevates the ordinary into the artful.

CABINETS

The home’s exterior tells a story of place and care. Locally milled larch siding brings integrity and warmth in every grain, the landscape it came from. It is finished with a custom blend of organic linseed oil and Swedish pine tar in rich black - a time-honored, all-natural treatment. The pine tar, once used by Viking shipwrights, protects without trapping moisture, repels insects, resists UV, and only deepens in character as it weathers.

PINE TAR

The home is grounded in materials chosen for both beauty and endurance. Heather grey slate greets you at the entry, its subtle texture offering a sense of permanence with every step. In the baths, hand-cast cement tiles bring a tactile richness and quiet sophistication, complementing the clean lines of the fixtures. Throughout, stone and tile are selected not only for durability, but for the way they age with grace - surfaces that invite touch and tell their story over time

MATERIALS

Oak runs as a unifying thread throughout the home; wide-plank floors underfoot, stair treads that feel grounded yet refined, and window sills that frame the light with quiet warmth. Chosen for its durability and timeless character, oak brings a sense of continuity to every space, its natural grain softening modern lines while adding depth and texture to daily living.

OAK

The staircase is hand-crafted in a mid-century style, where clean lines meet natural warmth. Oak treads and refined detailing create a sculptural element that feels both architectural and inviting. More than a passage between floors, it is a centerpiece of the home’s design.
